Comparative Study on Port Release Time of Import Container Cargo between Shanghai Waigaoqiao/Yangshan, Guangzhou Huangpu and Shenzhen Yantian

Methods: Case study and comparative study

Core Content: Based on the sampling data of Shanghai Waigaoqiao/Yangshan, Guangzhou Huangpu and Shenzhen Yantian from November 2015 to December 2015, on the premise of summarizing the release process of import container cargo at relevant ports, the total time of  release of import container cargo and the time of each link at various ports are fully compared.

The report finds:

(1) The overall average time of clearance at Guangzhou Huangpu Port was the shortest, followed by Waigaoqiao/Yangshan in Shanghai, and Yantian in Shenzhen.

(2) The possible outward transfer in the customs clearance of Yantian in Shenzhen is the main reason for the bottleneck;

(3) Some imported goods in Shanghai Waigaoqiao/Yangshan and Shenzhen Yantian need to click the manual background to confirm release after completing all the customs clearance, and all imported duty-related goods in Guangzhou Huangpu need to submit paper documents on site, which are important factors that increase the time for clearance.
